Jacksonville Symphony Guild Designer Showhouse and Gardens

Symphony Showhouse Designers Named

November, 2007 (JACKSONVILLE, FL) – The Jacksonville Symphony Guild announces the selection of 20 elite designers who will participate in the 2008 Designer Showhouse and Gardens, presented by Bank of America.

This select group of designers recently met with the builder of the Showhouse, Elwood Collier, to go over finishes and colors for specific areas of the house. The 2008 Showhouse is currently under construction and will feature an English Country Manor style. The two-story house is over 6,000 square feet and will have multiple kitchens, fireplaces and a guest house designed to make guests feel as though they are staying in a spa retreat. The selected designers will finish each of their rooms in time for the public opening on April 19, 2008.

“This year’s Symphony Guild Showhouse is an amazing opportunity to see classic architectural design paired with world-class interior design. We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful team of designers donating their time and resources to bring the Showhouse to life,” said Glenda Wann, ASID and Design Coordinator for the Showhouse.

The 2008 Showhouse designers are: Erin Alderman, Jennifer Bean, Holly Carrilon, Juli Catlin, Jenny Cocanougher, Susan Garrison, Carol Halliwell, Patty Harman, Susan Kerns, Ward Lariscy, Cheryl Martin, Tara Regan, Jane Roseborough, Allen Ruby, Joanne Rumney, Julie Schulte, Ginny Stine, June Terry, Glenda Wann and Terri Weidle.

“We are thrilled to have such a wonderful team to ensure the success of the Showhouse,” said Laura Mathewson, President of the Symphony Guild. “This event is very important, as it is the key fundraiser each year for the Symphony Guild, and proceeds from the showing of the house help underwrite the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra for future years.”

For over 50 years the Guild of the Jacksonville Symphony Association (JSA) has worked to further an awareness of music and to create strong community support of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra through fundraising projects. The 2008 Showhouse and Gardens will take place within the award-winning gated community of Pablo Creek Reserve, located just west of the Intracoastal Waterway and south of J. Turner Butler Boulevard. The 2008 Showhouse will be completed in time for the public opening, which will run from April 19th 2008 through Mother’s Day on May 11, 2008.
