Selection Process for Showhouse Designers
Approximately one to two years in advance the Jacksonville Symphony Guild begins its search for future Showhouse locations. Once a selection is made, a “buzzing” begins within the design community and designers begin thinking about the spaces in each Showhouse that they’d like to transform.
The designer selection process begins when invitations are sent to numerous designers within the First Coast design community, affording them the opportunity to tour the home and/or view the floor plans. When selecting the final participating designers, many things are considered such as trade experience, history with Showhouse projects, and of course the ability to work well with others and enjoy doing so. A tremendous amount of work lies ahead!
It is important to know that designers donate their time, financial resources and talent for a common goal… to raise funds for the Jacksonville Symphony Guild and its music education programs. The overall success of the Showhouse project is the result of a collaborative effort by hundreds of Symphony Guild volunteers, the show home owner, sponsors and talented designers who put their hearts and souls into this project.
