Selection Process for Showhouse Designers

Organizing a team to design the Showhouse begins months in advance of the annual event.

Everything begins when the Jacksonville Symphony Guild meets with a few select designers to form a Designer Selection Committee.  These designers, with past Showhouse experience and years in the profession lead in the final selection decision.

The Designer Selection Committee then organizes a meeting where designers and decorators in Northeast Florida are invited to preview the floor plans of the upcoming Showhouse.  Designers are asked to submit at least three room selections, as well as a brief description of their plans for the space.  With this information, and careful consideration, room assignments are made and the chosen designers are notified.

Now begins the process of working as a team to create a unified concept with fresh and creative ideas.  The goal of those invited is to create an incredible experience for the community, and at the same time raise needed funds for the Jacksonville Symphony Guild and their Music Education programs.

The overall success of the Showhouse project is the result of a collaborative effort of hundreds of Symphony Guild volunteers, the builder, Showhouse sponsors and 16 talented designers who put their heart and soul into this project.
