The Guild

More than 60 years ago the Concert Committee of the Jacksonville Symphony Association sold tickets to the first performance of the newly formed Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra.  Shortly thereafter, the Concert Committee became the Women’s Committee.  Sometime later, as the symphony’s activities expanded, the Committee was renamed the Women’s Guild.

Well known as “The Guild” by 1971, members sought new ways to enhance community participation and found success with Florida’s first designer showhouse, the beginning of a procession of exciting and profitable fundraisers.

As you tour the stately estate of “Southern Grandeur” remember that you are supporting the Jacksonville Symphony as well as The Guild’s musical education programs.  Without your assistance, The Guild would not be able to support music in Jacksonville, whether it is music education in the elementary schools or beautiful music being performed throughout the First Coast area.
